The Winter Solstice is almost upon us! Come celebrate the changing of the seasons on December 17th, at Sweetbriar Nature Center located in Smithtown, NY.I will be reading my book, Winter Solstice, at 12:30 PM.Join us at Sweetbriar for this wonderful occasion. Cheryl and her djembe drum as she encourages young adventurers to shake their own musical instruments exploring rhythms and dance to prime their imaginations.
Children learn: how to make a rainbow, how a cricket chirps and what it means to be a friend.
Storytime with Cheryl...
Participants paint the sky with Mary Jane, hop like crickets as Mr. Crouch counts them and learn the meaning of friendship with Fang, the bullying dragon.
Cheryl's artwork is projected via proxima onto a screen so the children feel as if they are a character in the story.
